Bridge Structure 48 Repair

This project involved the removal and replacement of approximately 1,300 linear feet of reinforced concrete bridgedeck between Moline, IL and the Rock Island Arsenal. Of this, roughly 800 linear feet of the bridgedeck replacement was performed above the Moline Pool of the Mississippi River. Additionally, vertical concrete patching and bearing replacements were carried out. The bridge closure required coordination of a detour route with three local municipalities and the Rock Island Arsenal. As part of the detour, a temporary security office and parking facility were also constructed.
